This is an exciting opportunity to work on a platform that has over half a million active shoppers and ships over 200,000 orders per week, delivering within one-hour time slots selected by customers.

We architect and build the ground-breaking, game-changing technology solutions that power its business model and enable its success in the grocery retail market. An increasingly important part of this success is deriving value from the vast volumes of data generated by the business.

What does the Data Science team do

The data science group consists of 6 data scientists and 2 insight analysts across two teams at a head office in Victoria, London. It is responsible for designing cutting-edge machine learning and optimisation techniques to convert data into important business insights and efficient operations.

The successful data scientist will work on an enterprise level data platform built around the latest Big Data and Cloud technologies. You`ll enjoy being part of the team if you like: learning fast (through experimentation, self-motivation etc); being autonomous but able to collaborate (sharing knowledge is important to us); craftsmanship and innovation (we never stop questioning how we can be better).

You will be part of the Data Science team and will have responsibility for:

● Building data-sets with the help of subject matter experts

● Creating production-ready machine learning / statistical models

● Evaluating, track performance of and maintain our machine learning models

● Working with business stakeholders in the specification of modelling tasks

● Partnering with engineering teams to integrate into Arkera`s production platform

What the Data Scientist needs to know:

Relevant commercial experience, (ideally 2-4 years) working with Large-scale productionised statistical modelling experience.

Strong commercial development with Python, SQL, scikit-learn (2 years+)

Demonstrable experience working on productionised recommendation systems with business sense/business intelligence experience (Tableau/Qlikview/SuperSet, evaluating AB tests, KPI analysis)

What we can offer you:

Technically stretching work is a given. We want you to push technological boundaries and create solutions to problems people haven`t even thought about yet; so we`ll give you the freedom and the tools and the playful, stimulating working environment you need to do what`s never been done before. While red tape`s conspicuous by its absence, rewards are plentiful: as well as a competitive salary, benefits include shar options, pension scheme, interest-free season ticket loan.
